Biography

Md Rashedul Islam is a PhD candidate in the School of Information Technology at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He is also an Associate Professor (currently on study leave) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, Bangladesh. In 2024-2025, he served as a Graduate Research Teaching Fellow and Sessional Academic at Deakin University.

He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, in 2019, and his B.Sc. from HSTU, Bangladesh.

His current research centers on Edge Data Integrity Verification (EDIV) within heterogeneous edge computing environments. Beyond EDIV, he has an established publication record in hyperspectral image analysis, privacy-preserving medical imaging, and steganography , with papers appearing in leading venues such as IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, Remote Sensing, Sensors, and the Journal of Spatial Science.

He has also served as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on several funded research projects at HSTU. His broader research interests include edge computing, machine learning, federated learning, blockchain-enabled security, and remote sensing image analysis.

Currently seeking collaborations in edge data integrity, federated learning, and hyperspectral imaging.
